WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE R3BUILD ROOM

When you walk into the R3BUILD ROOM, you may see some of the traditional elements of a weight room - such as dumbbells, benches, TRX, Bosu balls, and mats, but the exercises we do in here are far from ordinary. During this portion of the workout, you can expect to lift heavy weights, dumbbell-style. We never use barbells or machines, as they create balance. We want to create a little instability, forcing the use of every core and stabilizer muscle in your body to get the full benefits of the lift. We take traditional movements, such as shoulder presses, and add a bit of a challenge by standing on a Bosu ball for increased core engagement. Or, adding a dumbbell twist to your forward lunge to activate the core. Adding in these extra levels of difficulty to isolated movements will greatly improve your overall strength and performance. We also work to increase flexibility by doing full range, functional movements. When we’re doing exercises such as jump squats, we’ll remind you to work through your full range of motion to get the full benefits of the movement and increase flexibility. These approaches create a revolutionary workout method that uses your body weight and gravity as resistance to build strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, core, and joint stability. Overall, it’s a win-win for your body!

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE R3COVER ROOM

In this room, we do all our mobility work, the basis is a yoga-like flow. We'll add in movements on foam rollers, poses with blocks, and stretching with bands to increase your range of motion and flexibility. When you walk into the R3COVER ROOM, also known as our “zen room,” you’ll see heaters. This provides silent infrared heat, a sun-like warmth, that can penetrate the body up to 6 inches, warming up the muscles and allowing for a deep stretch. Improving flexibility is incredibly important as you age, to avoid injury and increase your quality of life. It’s also collagen-producing, and boosts metabolism and circulation. Additionally, stretching can help to relieve inflammation, ease pain, and protect against oxidative stress. It even helps to bring oxygen and nutrients to any injured tissues, which is crucial in the healing process.
